Hardwood flooring come in wide range but differs in styles and
dimensions. The materials that are used while making hardwood
flooring are Timber or Bamboo, Oak, Maple etc. As wood is a natural
raw material, it can expand and contract easily because of temperature
and moisture. Floor that are constructed from bamboo are called wood
floor. Hardwood is mostly used for structural purposes and is
generally fix perpendicular to the beams which are used for support
purpose. In engineered hardwood floor installation more than two
layers of hardwood are used which can be seen after the installation
of the flooring and it is attached to it to provide stability.
The method of engineered hardwood floor installation is used
worldwide. This hardwood is found all around the world and is used in
many countries for different purposes. Sometimes, it is very difficult
to differentiate between hard wood and engineered wood flooring.
There are various limitations of solid hardwood e.g. it should not be
applied straight over concrete, it cannot be used in the basement and
it cannot tolerate radiant heat. But, the advantage of using solid
hardwood is that they are thick and can be install easily using
nails.
Engineered hardwood floor installation is faster as compared to the
solid hardwood flooring; they are very stable and can be replaced
easily. Engineered wood can easily use floating installations, which
are very easy to repair and have the capability to decrease the time
of installation. There are various techniques which are used for
engineered hard wood installation which help people a lot in faster
installation e.g. Click System- here one side of the wood board
contain hole or groove and the other side contain a kind of clipping
system which is called as tongue, for attachment board must be in some
angle so that the tongue can easily fit into it. This click system is
only used for engineered hard wood floors but people are also using
this system for floating installation.
Second type of system use mill-specific techniques, in this
technique holes are made on all four sides of the wooden board and a
piece of rubber, plastic or wood is used to connect these
boards. Thinner wood pieces can be fitted easily with the help of
nails, and the thicker pieces are used in floating floors. While
making floating floor, there is no need to use nails or some kind of
pasting material as it is a new technology, and is very popular
nowadays for flooring installations.
Engineered hard wood is real wood but it would be best if people
use plywood inside while constructing floors as it provides an extra
strength and stability to the engineered hardwood floor installation.
Engineered hard wood floor installation is somewhat expensive as
compared to other installation but after using this installation it
turns to be very much durable and it has very less maintenance
cost. So, use of engineered hard wood flooring is suggestible for
decorating house, offices and other areas where it can be used.
